Itinerary Details:
Day 1: Sembalun Village (1,156m) – Plawangan Sembalun (2,639m)
- Morning (7:00 – 8:00): Pick-up at Senaru Inn and head to Sembalun.
The journey to Sembalun takes 1 hour, accompanied by a driver provided by your trekking operator. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at the Mount Rinjani National Park entrance and begin your trek from the starting point around 10:00 a.m. - The journey to the post takes 1 (2) hours, where you can rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
- Afternoon (12:00 – 1:00 p.m.): Lunch Lunch prepared by porters at Post 2 or Post 3.
- Afternoon – Evening (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM): Continue climbing past Post 3 (Pada Balong, 1,800 m) until you reach Plawangan Sembalun (2,639 m). This is your first campsite.
- Afternoon – Evening: Set up your tent and enjoy the spectacular sunset with Mount Rinjani, Lake Segara Anak, and the caldera in the background. Have dinner and rest to prepare for the summit climb early tomorrow morning.
Day 2: Plawangan Sembalun – Rinjani Peak (3,726 m) – Segara Anak Lake (2,000 m) – Plawangan Senaru (2,641 m)
- Early Morning (2:00 AM – 2:30 AM): Wake up, have hot tea/coffee, and have a light breakfast (e.g., biscuits).
- Early Morning (2:30 AM – 7:00 AM): Begin the climb to the summit of Rinjani (3,726 m). This section is the most challenging (steep volcanic sand terrain), taking approximately 3-4 hours.
- Morning (7:00 AM – 8:00 AM): Enjoy the stunning sunrise from the summit, overlooking the entire island of Lombok and Lake Segara Anak.
- Morning (8:00 AM): Descend back to Plawangan Sembalun. From the summit of Rinjani, the trek usually takes 2 hours.
- Morning (9:30 AM): Have a full breakfast at Plawangan Sembalun, with porters provided.
- Afternoon (10:30 AM -): Continue the descent to Lake Segara Anak (2,000 m). You can soak in the natural hot springs located near Lake Segara Anak to restore your energy.
- Afternoon (2:00 PM – 3:00 PM): Lunch by the lake.
- Afternoon (3:00 PM – 10:00 AM): Continue the climb to Plawangan Senaru (2,641 m), your final campsite.
- Night: Rest and spend the night here. From here, you can see Lake Segara Anak from a different perspective, including Bali and the three Gili Islands.
Day 3: Plawangan Senaru (2,641 m) – Pitu Masuk Atu Pitu Keluar Senaru Village, 609 from the sea.
- Morning (6:30 AM): Wake up, have breakfast, and enjoy the beautiful sunrise from Plawangan Senaru.
- Morning (7:30 AM): Begin the descent through the lush and shady forest path to Senaru Village. This trail is longer but less steep than the descent from Sembalun. You’ll pass Post 3 (Mondokon Lolak, 2,000m), Post 2 (Montong Satas, 1,500m), and Post 1 (Senaru, 900m).
